Video first appeared as the logical evolution of photography to me, but quickly evolved into one of my most interdisciplinary venues of self-expression; video essays on film, animation, and collaborative creative projects have been one of the pillars of my experimentation over the years. Thus, most of what I treasure and want to present and preserve here comes from long ago. It is, however, still very much relevant to my creative work today.

Video essays

Films have been a passion of mine for many years, and talking about them doubly so, as anyone following my Letterboxd-account can attest to. And whenever writing down my opinions wasn’t enough, video essays had to make due:

The Lobster — When music tells a story of its own

Ex Machina – Artificial intelligence as our mirror

Mother & We Need to Talk About Kevin — Maternal love and lack thereof

Foreign language in film

Animation

It’s been many years since, but a formative moment of my teenage years has been my sudden dive into stop motion animation. Not much holds up to scrutiny for obvious reasons, but the following two films are too dear to my heart not to present them here.

Eidolo (2015)

Mask (2013)

Collaborations

One of the greatest joys has been to be creatively involved with my friends, throwing ideas back and forth and coming up with concepts for stories, films, and much more.
